13 July, 11:24The total number of fatalities in the region is 18.702 (+85), out of which 9063 registered in Germany, 1871 in Romania, 1568 in Poland, 1383 in Ukraine 706 in Austria, 640 in Moldova, 595 in Hungary. Between June 29 and July 6, the highest growth of the total number of COVID19-related fatalities was recorded in Kosovo (+150,0%), Albania (+79,5%), Montenegro (+55,6%) and North Macedonia (+43,3%).
The highest number of cases of COVID-19 in the area was registered in Germany (198804, +248 in the last 24 hours), followed by Belarus (64764, +160), Ukraine (53521, +678), Poland (37521, +305), Romania (32079, +698), Moldova (19028, +284), Austria (18795, +108), Serbia (18073, +345) and Czechia (13115, +53). In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 85899 confirmed cases and 3537 deaths were registered as of July 12.
In Central- and Eastern Europe, Belarus has registered about 6823 cases of COVID-19 per million inhabitants, followed by Moldova (4717) and North Macedonia (3836), compared to 4015 in Italy, while the lowest rate was observed in Greece (350 per million) and Slovakia (347 per million), according to a count by ANSA based on WHO data. In the region, North Macedonia has registered the highest number of deaths per one million population in the region (181), followed by Moldova (159) and Germany (109), Slovakia the lowest (5). Italy has recorded around 578 deaths per million inhabitants.
Between June 29 and July 6, the highest weekly increase of total confirmed cases was observed in Montenegro (+115,7%), Kosovo (+63,0%), Bosnia-Herzegovina (+57,2%), Albania (+48,6%), Bulgaria (+47,0%), North Macedonia (+38,0%), Croatia (+36,0%) and Ukraine (+31,7%). Only in Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia and Estonia the weekly increase of new cases was between 5% and zero. (ANSA).
