(ANSA) - WARSAW - The Polish government will begin the cancellation process of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) next Monday, Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro announced today. During a press conference, Ziobro explained he's convinced that the Convention, launched in 2011 and signed by Poland a year later, contains "ideological concepts" not shared by the current Polish government, including that on "socio-cultural" sex in opposition to "biological" sex.
