Nord Stream 2: Berlin offered the US 1bn to avoid sanctions

In a written message dating back to August 7, the German government made itself available to raise the "public support for the construction" of the ports up to 1 billion, to avoid the sanctions threatened by Donald Trump, who wants to sell the US gas in Europe. Meanwhile, the Nord Stream 2 is currently back in the spotlight. After Russian dissident Alexei Navalny's poisoning with a nerve agent from Novichok in Russia, Angela Merkel has not yet ruled out the project's interruption to bring gas from Russia to Germany and Europe: an issue that will be on the table at the next European council.
