Germany: GDP -1.8% on the previous quarter in first quarter
Another decline in economic performance at the beginning of 2021

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 25 - The gross domestic product in
Germany fell by 1.8% in the first quarter of 2021 on the fourth
quarter of 2020, the German statistical office Destatis said
today. "After the German economy had somewhat recovered in the
second half of 2020 (+8.7% in the third quarter and +0.5% in the
fourth quarter), the coronavirus crisis caused another decline
in economic performance at the beginning of 2021," Destatis
noted. According to official data, the decrease was slightly
larger than reported in the first release of 30 April 2021.
