The EU appointed Pristina-Belgrade special representative

Slovakian Lajcak in office for 12 months in support of dialogue

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - Slovakian Miroslav Lajcak is the new EU special representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and the normalization of relations throughout the western Balkan region. The EU Council announced.

Lajcak now assumes his office with an initial 12-month term.

Former Foreign Minister of Slovakia, EU Special Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2007 to 2009 and President of the UN General Assembly for his 72nd session (2017-2018), the diplomat will support the work of the EU High Representative Josep Borrell for the negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia.
