Coronavirus: Montenegro, tourists from states with few cases

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 01 GIU - Tourists, mostly from Western European countries, started entering Montenegro in the past night, after no quarantine entry measure have come into force in the Balkan countries for citizens of countries with less than 25 active Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the government of Montenegro informed via its official Twitter account today.

A video posted on the government account shows queues of cars with foreign license plates approaching the Debeli Brijeg border point between Montenegro and Croatia after midnight.

From today, foreigners are allowed to enter Montenegro if the rate of active Covid-19 cases is less than 25 per 100,000 inhabitants in the country of residence and in the country from which the foreigner enters Montenegro, with no quarantine and no self-isolation compulsory anymore. An update list of countries whom citizens are allowed to entry and to stay in Montenegro is available at the website of the Institute for public health of Montenegro.

Some major countries such as Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Italy are not on the list at this stage. Montenegro has not recorded any new case coronavirus since 25 days, according to WHO data. (ANSA).
