Coronavirus: 30 cases in Slovenia, country hits record high

Ljubljana re-imposes restrictive measures

04 July, 19:32
(ANSA) - LUBIANA, 04 LUG - In the last 24 hours, Slovenia recorded 30 new cases of coronavirus infections, the country's record high since mid-April. Local media reported, underlining that the number of Covid-19 cases among young people is growing.

The total number of infections is currently 1,679, whereas the deaths have stopped, after reaching 111 some days ago.

Slovenia, just like the other ex-Yugoslav countries and the Balkan region, is struggling with a significant increase in infections. A few weeks ago the country was on the verge of proclaiming the end of the epidemic, given the almost total absence of new infections. For this reason, the authorities in Ljubljana are re-imposing restrictive measures to stem the virus spread. (ANSA).
