(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 07 SET - "The most important message is: despite the pandemic, we succeeded in bringing together all of those science professionals and interested citizens who wanted to debate and discuss about how the role of science and how scientific practises can be improved".

It has been told by the EuroScience's president, Michael Matlosz, on the sidelines of the final Esof 2020's press conference in Trieste.

"I think there's no better witness to the importance of this event than the fact that we decided to hold it -underlined Matlosz- when many others decided to cancel their events, and the reason is that we really believe that science will contribute positively, not only to the issue around the covid pandemic, but also more generally to society going forward".

He also added that Esof was the largest scientific meeting since the outbreak of the pandemic in the world and "we decided to do it because we felt it was so important to have this exchange now and not wait to look at it later". (ANSA).
