Germany: IFO cuts 2018 growth estimates, from 2.6% to 1.8%

Data for 2019 were also revised downwards

(ANSA) - BERLIN - IFO institute has strongly downgraded Germany's economic growth forecast for the current year, from 2.6% to 1.8%. As for the next year, estimates were also cut from 2.1% to 1.8%.

''The economy has clearly performed worse than expected and the risk factors have definitely increased'', said the report released by the Munich-based institute. The DIW institute and the Bundesbank also cut growth forecast in recent days. (ANSA).
