(ANSAmed) - ROME, DECEMBER 10 - A cooperation kicked off today between ANSA and the Dubai Press Club, the Emirates journalism association founded in 1999 by sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prime minister and vice-president of the United Arab Emirates as well as emir of Dubai.

The objective is to promote a ''vision on the future'' in UAE journalism through the training of professionals and the development of new media, as explained by the director of the Dubai Press Club, Muna Busamra, at a meeting on Wednesday at the headquarters of ANSA with the news agency's CEO, Giuseppe Cerbone.

The cooperation stems from a context of excellent relations between Italy and the Emirates and the growing interest of the UAE in investments in our country, as shown by the Etihad-Alitalia agreement. Italy is also interested in investing, with some 300 companies active in the Emirates.

The Dubai Press Club, which groups the main UAE newspapers and media and foreign media outlets operating in the Emirates, carries out each year reports on the evolution of journalism in the Emirates, as well as organizing the most important journalism prize in the Arab world.
