(ANSAmed) - ROME - Creating new tools to boost dialogue, as well as economic, commercial and cultural cooperation between Europe and the Arab world - in particular Italy and the United Arab Emirates - is the objective of the Forum organized by ANSA and the Dubai Press Club, under the patronage of the foreign ministry.
The event was attended, among others, by Hamad Buamim, director general of the chamber of commerce and industry in Dubai, Ibrahim Al Abed, director general of the national media council, and Italian representatives present in the Emirates including members of Italian companies in the country.
The CEO of ANSA Giuseppe Cerbone stressed, on the eve of the Forum, that in 2014 the trade surplus between Italy and the UAE exceeded 4.5 billion euros with a stark increase on 2013. This important result for Italian companies, backed by institutions, concerns Italy's top economic sectors including food, fashion, interior decoration and technology and can further grow thanks to the excellent relations between the two countries and reciprocal appreciation between UAE and Italian representatives.
The improvement of the Italian economic situation is a further element favoring an increase in commercial cooperation as Italian companies are increasingly able to invest.
"Such economic development between the two countries - according to Cerbone - requires maintaining an excellent relationship of friendship and a bond. And communication is a key tool to foster reciprocal knowledge between populations and the huge industrial competence of Italy can help, with its neighborhood policy, the impetuous development of each of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates in their totality. As a testament of this cooperation there is the consolidated relationship between ANSA and the prestigious Dubai Press club that has enabled the organization of this event".
The 2014 edition of ANSA's Forum was organized October 16 in Cairo in cooperation with Al Ahram, Egypt's leading daily and one of the most popular in the Arab world, to mark the celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the creation of ANSAmed, with the participation, among others, of Egyptian Premier Ibrahim Mahlab, the board's president of the Al-Ahram foundation, Ahmed El-Sayed El-Naggar, the deputy president of the European Parliament, David Sassoli and the former secretary general of the Arab League and president of the 'Committee of 50' Amr Moussa.
