(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, APRIL 15 - The International Monetary Fund expects Algeria's unemployment rate to fall by the end of 2013 to 9.3%, reports the country's labor and social security minister, Tayeb Louh. The unemployment rate currently stands at 10%, APS quoted Louh as saying, compared with 30% in 1999. The young suffer from higher levels of joblessness.

However, the official figure has been criticized by some analysts, who say that it does not reflect the situation on the ground. The country has been affected by the international crisis, in which over 400,000 people have lost their jobs. The minister said that the government's measures to boost the country's economy and financial autonomy had proven effective.
