Bosnian basket champ Nurkic gets a Croatian passport

    (ANSAmed) -SARAJEVO, 31 AUGUST- Jusuf Nurkic, the best basketball player in Bosnia-Herzegovina, who plays in the NBA championship for the Portland Trail Blazers, requested a Croatian passport.

    The Croatian Olympic Committee's council, upon request by the Croatian Basketball Association, was in favor and supported this measure to offer Nurkic Croatian citizenship. Prior to the NBA, Nurkic left his mark in Croatian basketball playing for Cedevita and Zara.

    According to news circulated by local media in the recent days, even Edin Dzeko, playing for Inter this year, obtained a Croatian passport. Athletes in Bosnia-Herzegovina gain benefits from having a passport of the European Union and they can also travel all over the world more easily, while with a Bosnian passport they need to request a visa before traveling to many countries.(ANSAmed).
