Greece: new strikes organized against labor bill

Parliament is scheduled to approve reform today

16 June, 14:47

(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, JUNE 16 - A new wave of strikes were organized on Wednesday in Greece, for the second time in a week, to protest against a controversial labor reform that should be approved in the afternoon by Parliament.

The 24-hour strikes concern ferry services connecting the country's touristic islands, the capital's urban transport and a number of other public services.

The bill, among other things, provides for the flexibility of working hours, with a maximum of 10 hours of work per day, as well as stricter rules against strikes. (ANSAmed)
