(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, 22 NOV - A rescue operation for about 500
migrants on a boat was launched on Tuesday by the Greek Coast
Guard.
The Coast Guard noted that the operation had been launched off the island of Crete after a vessel carrying up to 500 migrants had called for help.
"We can see the boat...there are many people onboard," a spokesman for the Coast Guard said, estimating that there are between 400 and 500 migrants. (ANSAmed).
