(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JULY 30 - Israel on Friday began administering a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine to already vaccinated people over age 60.

It is the first in the world to do so.

In the presence of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, the first two volunteers were Head of State Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal.

Bennett said that the fight against COVID is global and that the country was ready to share its knowledge and experience on the matter.

The prime minister, who is a practicing Jew, called for vaccinating the elderly by 'reworking' one of the Ten Commandments: "vaccinate thy father and thy mother, so that you may lengthen their lives". (ANSAmed).
