(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JUNE 22 - A law, under the government's initiative, to dissolve the Knesset and call new elections has passed its first reading. Parliament approved it preliminarily with 110 votes in favor out of 120. The measure now goes to the Commission and will then need other approvals.

The government of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid counts on a final green light from the Knesset in the first few days of next week. After the approval, Yair Lapid, under a deal with Bennett, will become interim premier ahead of elections that could be scheduled between the end of October and the beginning of November.(ANSAmed).
