(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, MARCH 22 - King of Jordan Abdullah II will go to the West Bank city of Ramallah by the end of the month to meet with Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, according to media reports.

The visit will be the king's first to the West Bank since 2017 and - according to a PA source - is expected to occur prior to the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, which begins in early April.

The two leaders will discuss security for this period, which partially coincides with the Jewish Passover and Easter for Christians.

Jordan holds custodianship for the al-Aqsa Mosque complex.
