(ANSAmed) - ROME, DECEMBER 2 - ''Baskets of solidarity'' is a virtual photography show by Roberta Basile and Salvatore Laporta of the agency Kontrolab, created and organized thanks to an initiative of the Italian embassy in Kuwait, in cooperation with the Istituto Garuzzo per le Arti Visive, launched on the YouTube channel of the embassy https://youtu.be/Eo2p-t-DBCU.

At the center of the show are simple baskets suspended over the streets of downtown Naples, one of the largest historic centers in the world, with a straightforward message - ''Those who can, put something inside, those who can't, take!''. The photos by Basile and Laporta show emotions, everyday life, the streets of Naples always bustling with activity. The lens succeeds in capturing an unusual dimension, and everybody's desire to return to normality.

The photos provide an insight into a new dimension of life, a return to the past with the ''baskets of solidarity'' portrayed becoming one of the symbols of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ambassador Carlo Baldocci in the introduction of the video spoke about a situation last spring that made headlines in Italy and abroad, showing Naples as an example to emulate around the world: ''This is an important and moving story about how Naples, during the very difficult weeks of the lockdown, was able to transform an ancient tradition into an authentic form of sharing in solidarity''. ''The institute Garuzzo is honored and happy to be able to cooperate for this project with the Italian embassy in Kuwait'', said the president, Rosalba Garuzzo. ''The images by Roberta Basile and Salvatore Laporta talk about Naples and Italy, the hope and generosity of those who give, of those who fight so that nobody is left behind, thus defeating pain and fear''.

The photos will become part of the country's history. ''These photos are often harsh, brutal, but all moving'', concluded Ambassador Baldocci, with art and reality becoming one. ''A positive message, full of hope emerges - as well as the certainty that we can only make it together''.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
