Qatar Economic Forum opens Monday 21 June

From Emir Al Thani to Hillary Clinton to talk about growth

    (ANSAmed) - ROME, 17 GIU - The Qatari Embassy in Rome announced that the Qatar Economic Forum will open on 21 June 2021.

    It said the three-day event, organised in Doha in collaboration with Bloomberg, will put the most influential personalities in global economics together with important political leaders to plan the next phase of global growth.

    The Forum will be opened by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and will include the participation of important members of international organisations such as the general director of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and UN deputy secretary general Amina J.

    Mohammed; from the world of politics such as South African President S.E. Cyril Ramaphosa; Qatar Trade and Industry Minister Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari; Qatari Public Health Minister Hanan Al Kuwari; Energy Minister and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; British Investment Minister Lord Grimstone; former US Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton; Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Manlio Di Stefano; as well as from the world of economics such as CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority, Monsoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud; BlackRock President and CEO Laurence D. Fink; Volkswagen AG President Herbert Diess; and Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.

    Other participants will include personalities from the world of fashion and sport such as former football player David Beckham, Valentino CEO Jacopo Venturini, and Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Hassan Al Thawadi.

    "The event, which will conclude on 23 June 2021, will see the virtual participation of more than 100 speakers and 500 delegates from around the world will present opportunities and solutions to rethink the global economy," organisers said.
