(ANSAmed) - NAPLES, MARCH 28 - Generation Amazing and the Qatar Foundation (QF) will team with FIFA for a series of football initiatives to strengthen the community of Qatar around the World Cup to be hosted in November by the country.

The announcement, news site The Peninsula reports, came during the Forum of Doha where the QF and Generation Amazing, a social project of the Qatari government, have signed an agreement with FIFA that provides for the three protagonists to work together for soccer programs in the country's schools.

The initiative, which has also registered the participation of UNESCO, vies to contribute to the education and development of some 700 million children worldwide by introducing soccer among educational activities.

"It is a great pleasure - FIFA President Gianni Infantino said after the signature of an agreement on the inclusion of Qatar in the project - that FIFA, starting today, will cooperate with Generation Amazing and the Qatar Foundation. Being capable of a strong impact on society goes through the responsibility of each association, using sport to reach the new generation. Let's look to work together in the coming months and years in many common projects and, in particular, to bring soccer to the country's schools". Projects will include taking over 80 kids to soccer events with former football starts to the Generation Amazing Community Club, a short distance from the Lusail Stadium, which will host the World Cup finals. Stars will include France's Youri Djorkaeff, Australia's Tim Cahill and Dutch player Nigel de Jong.

The program also provides for the use of a digital application that includes training methods and will be helpful for coaches and parents to follow training sessions.

"Organizing the World Cup - explained Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, vice president of QF - is an occasion for our country and for the entire region. We work together with our partners, the FIFA Foundation and Generation Amazing, we are improving the power of soccer in having a positive effect on changes for our youths and in promoting progress".
