BELGRADO - Kosovo leaders have expressed satisfaction at the life sentence for Ratko Mladic and once again stated that they would like a trial to be held against Serbia in an international court of law for genocide.

Kosovo's justice minister, Aljbuljena Hadzju, said that the crimes for which Mladic was sentenced were planned and ordered by the Serbian state.

"Serbia, under the leadership of Slobodan Milosevic, committed a genocide in Kosovo as well as Bosnia. The crimes committed in the two countries were not individual ones: we believe that they were planned and ordered by the Serbian state itself," the minister was quoted by Belgrade media as saying.

She added that Kosovo's authorities must for this reason work hard at preparing genocide charges against Serbia.
