(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 16 - Europride organizers in Belgrade and representatives of the European Pride Organizers Association on Friday handed a petition to the Serbian government with 27,000 signatures asking the president and premier of Serbia to approve the parade tomorrow in the Serbian capital.

Goran Miletic, one of the organizers, spoke during a press conference about the determination to hold Saturday the Europride 2022, the first organized in a southeastern European country. Over the last few days, during the week of awareness and mobilization, no incident was reported, said Miletic, according to whom the parade tomorrow will symbolically start in front of the Constitutional court. "The High Court has declared these bans unconstitutional for four times, and we ask to do it this time as well", he said. The situation in Belgrade remains uncertain, after the ban of the interior ministry to both the Europride parade and a counter event in favor of the traditional family, for reasons of security and public order. Organizers said they were willing to suggest an alternative route, but so far no news has been reported on potential negotiations or new decisions. (ANSAmed).
