(ANSAmed) - LJUBLJANA, APRIL 21 - The work started four months ago in Trieste has laid the foundation for a good cooperation for the development of the High Adriatic, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said at the end of a trilateral meeting on Wednesday with Slovenia and Croatia that took place near Ljubljana. Di Maio expressed satisfaction for the level of dialogue and excellent hospitality.

"This collaboration is based on a concrete approach because territories need concrete answers to restart with renewed impetus", said the foreign minister, adding that the proposal of a European green certificate is an important step forward - always to be connected to the national vaccination campaign and a European coordination.

Talking about collaboration on specific themes, Di Maio explained that the draft legislation on special economic zones is being examined by the Senate. Moreover, the four main areas - economy of the sea, safeguard of the territory, maritime security and connections between ports of the North Adriatic - must be the cornerstones of the region's economic recovery, with a significant impact on territories also thanks to the development of sustainable tourism. "The excellent level of collaboration thanks to the trilateral format", said Di Maio, "allows to develop the High Adriatic as an axis of logistical and infrastructural connection of Europe with the rest of the world".(ANSAmed).
