(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, 22 NOV - Turkish president Recep Tayyip
Erdogan has once again mentioned the possibility of an operation
using ground troops "soon" against Kurdish-led fighters linked
to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Syria and Iraq.
The PKK is considered a terrorist organisation by the US, EU, and Turkey.
""We have been on top of terrorists for a few days with our planes, cannons and drones," Erdogan said in a televised address on Tuesday in reference to the Kurdish-led, PKK-linked fighters in Syria and Iraq. "God willing, we will root out all of them soon with our tanks, artillery and soldiers." A Turkish weaponised drone on Tuesday hit a military base in northeastern Syria shared by US forces and the PKK-linked local Syrian Democratic Forces, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
SOHR added that the attack had happened in the northeastern area of Hasakah and that three SDF Kurdish fighters had been killed. (ANSAmed).
