(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, DECEMBER 29 - Tunisian President Kais
Saied was still ahead in the intention expressed by would-be
voters in a poll on presidential elections but dropped to 76% of
would-be votes from 79%, according to a survey carried out by
Emrhod Consulting, commissioned by the media Business News and
Attessia tv.
A reported 25% of those interviewed stated they did not know who to vote for, while 6% said they would pick the leader of the Free Destourian Party (PDL), Abit Moussi. The survey also found Safi Said at 5% and former president Moncef Marzouki at 3%. A reported 67% of those polled moreover still expressed satisfaction for Saied's behavior , down from 72% last month.
The hypothetical 'party of Saied', which has not been formed, also lost points. It would garner 21% of would-be votes, preceded by the PDL of Abir Moussi with 33% (the last survey was at 29%), which ranked at the top of voters' intentions. The Islamist Ennahdha ranked third with 16%, up one percentage point.
Some 26% of those interviewed said they were satisfied by the performance of Premier Najla Bouden, although 65% refused to answer that question.
The poll was carried out between December 24 and 27 out of a sample of 1,200 people over 18, coming from 14 governorates of the country. The margin of error is estimated at 2.8%. (ANSAmed)
