(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, SEPTEMBER 14 - Italy will be present at the Istanbul Biennial for the first time this year, with the Italian embassy to Turkey sponsoring a special event dedicated to video art.

"Anteprima", an initiative keenly anticipated by specialists in the sector, will open on September 20 at 18:00 at the Italian cultural institute in Istanbul, at Mesrutiyet Caddesi, 75. The event will feature the works of three Italian and three Turkish artists, who have been chosen as the leading exponents of this modern art form, which is experiencing growing success around the world.

The event, which will be inaugurated by the Italian ambassador to Turkey, Gianpaolo Scarante, will feature artistic direction by Beral Madra and Maria Rosa Sossai, two authoritative and internationally renowned experts in the sector, with general coordination from Francesca Ganzenua and the Rome-based Album Arte cultural association.

"Anteprima" is the first step towards a greater and more structured Italian presence on the banks of the Bosphorous in all sectors of artistic expression and will preview a series of international events connected to the production and experimentation of artistic film and video, which over the coming months will particularly benefit from the special relations between Italy and Turkey.
