Slovenia experiences 4.2 earthquake on Italian border

No damage reported but fear among population

    (ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, 17 LUG - An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at 4:50 AM in Slovenia near the border with Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

    According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the quake had an hypocenter 7 km deep and an epicentre in the Slovenian area of Plezzo, 17 km from the Taipana and Pulfero municipalities.

    No damage was initially reported, according to the Slovenian news agency STA, but it did alarm the local population.
