Archaeology: 'Sardinia, Island of Megaliths' in Thessaloniki

Last stop from June-September at Naples' MANN

    CAGLIARI - The exhibition "Sardinia - Island of Megaliths', will be inaugurated on Friday, February 11 at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
    This is the show's third stop following runs at the Neues Museum in Berlin and the State Hermitage Museum in St.
    Petersburg The exhibition will conclude its tour at the Naples National Archaeological Museum (MANN) from June 10 to September 11, 2022.
    It includes archaeological artifacts from the museums of Cagliari, Nuoro and Sassari and is sponsored by the Region of Sardinia with funds from the Sardinia 2014-2020 Operational Programme of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
    "The regional council's programme to promote the image of the island and its immense archaeological heritage at a national and international level continues," said regional tourism councillor Gianni Chessa.
    "We must create the conditions so that the economic world of international cultural and archaeological tourism comes to Sardinia and experiences it directly," Chessa said.
    He will also speak at the inauguration ceremony in Greece, where the exhibition will remain until May 15, 2022.
