Bonet i Armengol, 97, died Monday evening in Barcelona.
Bonet was the director and coordinator of construction work at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família from 1985 to 2012, a position also held by his father, a direct disciple of Antoni Gaudí.

The EFE news agency reported that he had also worked on other churches in Catalonia and had written articles and given lectures around the world on topics such as Gaudí, architectural heritage and restoration of buildings.
He had been named an honorary member of the Pontificia Insigne Accademia di Belle Arti e Lettere dei Virtuosi at the Pantheon.(ANSAmed).
