Biden reintroduces tariffs on aluminum from Arab Emirates

Move freezes European hopes of a tariff revocation

02 February, 18:41

(ANSAmed) - WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY 2 - In one of his first trade decisions, US President Joe Biden reintroduced for national security reasons the 10% tariff on aluminum imports from the United Arab Emirates that his predecessor Donald Trump had removed one day prior to leaving the White House, coinciding with the sale of 50 F-35 aircraft to Abu Dhabi.

The move seems to freeze European hopes of an immediate revocation of tariffs imposed by Trump on steel and aluminum that the EU ambassador to Washington asked for last week with the promise in return of immediately removing counter tariffs.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
