(ANSAmed) - ROME, APR 20 - Italy's deficit in the trade of
energy stood at 7.263 billion euros in February 2022,
approximately three times the 2.213 billion euros of the same
month last year, ISTAT said on Wednesday.
The national statistics agency said this was the main factor in Italy's balance of trade going from a 4.750-billion-euro surplus in February 2021 to a 1.662 billion deficit 12 months later.
ISTAT said the value of imports was up 44.9% and natural-gas purchases accounted for 10 points of that. (ANSAmed).
