Serbia and Kosovo reach energy deal, EU

'Major step forward' in Pristina-Belgrade dialogue

    (ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, JUNE 21 - Kosovo and Serbia have adopted a roadmap for the implementation of energy accords as part of EU-facilitated dialogue.

    EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajcak announced the news in a tweet.

    He praised the "major step forward" in the normalisation of relations between the two states.

    The agreement, published by Lajcak, contains nine points and aims to get past the crisis and problems in the energy sector in the two countries.

    EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell noted in a tweet that he had spoken to the leaders of the two countries to "congratulate them on reaching an agreement on the energy roadmap today. This is a big & important step forward in the EU-facilitated Dialogue and will deliver concrete results for all citizens. We look forward to continue working on next steps." (ANSAmed).
