Turkish inflation hits almost 80% in a year

Independent ENAG institute instead puts it at 175.5%

    (ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, 04 LUG - Inflation in Turkey over the past 12 months rose to 78.6%, while since May the increase in prices was 4.95%, according to the national statistics institute TUIK.

    According to the figures published by the independent institute ENAG instead, however, inflation on an annual basis reached 175.55% last month, with an 8.31% rise between May and June.

    According to the official report by TUIK, over the past year prices rose the most in the transportation (123.37%), food and beverages (93.93%), home furnishings (81.14%), and hotel, cafe, and restaurants (79.95%) sectors. (ANSAmed).
