(ANSAmed) - MILAN, 25 NOV - Intesa Sanpaolo and the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) signed an MoU
to cooperate and try to create synergies in areas of common
interest, such as the promotion of access to funding, education,
cultural exchanges in the finance sector, sustainability and
international cooperation in the realm of commerce in the
Euro-Mediterranean and the Gulf.
The objective is to contribute to the growth and development of relations, countries and societies. Intesa Sanpaolo is the only Italian banking group to have signed the agreement with PAM, collaborating as well on the realization of apprenticeships and exchanges for students to facilitate their entry in the working world.
The Mediterranean takes on an increasingly strategic role as it is the area where Asia, Africa and Europe meet, and there are strong conditions for additional growth.
Italy, in particular its south, due to its geographic location represents a natural hub for cultural and commercial relations for the entire area: "Through our international subsidiary banks division, Intesa Sanpaolo has a strong presence in the Mediterranean area where it manages over 950 branches operating in commercial banking in 12 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and North Africa. Intesa Sanpaolo serves 7 million retail clients", states Marco Elio Rottigni, Chief of the international subsidiary banks division of the Italian banking group. (ANSAmed).
