(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, DECEMBER 21 - The works of the
Mediterranean University for eco charity activities, the closing
event of the Enpi Cbc ILE event, ''Local Initiatives for
the Environment in the Mediterranean'', aiming to foster
sustainable development and local democracy through the
cooperation of countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area and the
relative Ngos and environmental associations, wrapped up in
Hammamet.
Adherents to the project financed by the European Union, among which Italian Amesci could assess the end result of the activities undertaken and formalise the network consolidated in two years of mediation between operators and through the establishment of a true network.
This international project on environment also entailed education laboratories, periodic experiences of volunteer work for youngsters selected in 7 summer camps in France, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco ad Tunisia.
Selected youths with verified knowledge of agronomy/community development /graphic design/communication/local development/environment/environmental risks/sociology/tourism, had the opportunity to meet people from different Mediterranean countries and work together on important themes such as sustainable agricolture, active citizenship, the renewal of city-parks.
The organisers of the Mediterranean University of eco-volunteer work stress that what was achieved in Hammamet through a project which drew 100 people coming from civil society, the youth and authorities in partner-countries such as Tunisia, Greece, Lebanon, Italy and France and non partner ones such ad Morocco, Algeria, Portugal and Spain does non end the ILE project but actually launches an ILE network which shall prove helpful in the future for cooperation in the fields of eco-volunteer work and eco-citizenship.
