Expo Dubai: Italy protagonist for climate, biodiversity

    ROME - A new global digital event organized by Expo 2020 Dubai will see the participation of Italy as a protagonist after Space Week held at the beginning of October. ''Climate and Biodiversity Week'' is scheduled starting on Monday and will be dedicated to the themes of the preservation of biodiversity and climate change and their impact on everyday life. The digital event - visible also on the YouTube channel of Expo 2020 Dubai - gathers experts from around the world and offers an anticipation of initiatives that in 12 months will be held in many of the over 190 national pavilions ongoing during the thematic week at the Universal Exposition starting on October 1, 2021 (https://www.expo2020dubai.com/en/expo-talks/climate-week).

    On Wednesday, October 21, in the section that begins at 13:00 Italian time, Italy will participate in the initiative with many original contributions: Paolo Galli, a professor of ecology at the Department for environmental studies at the University Bicocca in Milan and director of the MaRHE Center, which will analyze international cooperation and the protection of coral barriers in the Maldives; Giorgio Saccoccia, President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) which will present PRISMA, an innovative satellite made in Italy able to distinguish the chemical-physical composition of the earth's surface; Giovanni Giuseppe Vendramin, Director of the Istituto di Bioscienze e BioRisorse (National Research Council - CNR); Angelo Riccaboni, president of the Foundation PRIMA which will analyze the challenges of climate change for the Italian agribusiness and all countries overlooking the Mediterranean.
