Adriatico Mediterraneo Festival on links with Albania

15th edition in Ancona 18/8-22/8

    (ANSAmed) - ANCONA, AUG 10 - The 15th Adriatico Mediterraneo Festival will focus on Albania and its historic links with Italy.

    Then festival will be held in Ancona from August 18 to August 22 and will feature events and concerts from dawn at Passetto to dusk at La Banchina del Porto Antico, as well as shows at Mole Vanvitellina with Danilo Rea, Nostos, Livio Gianola, James Senese e Raiz, Fink and Radicanto.

    The festival will begin with the giving of an award to Professor of Contemporary History at Rome's Sapienza University Roberto Marozzo della Rocca, an Italian expert on Albania.

    The festival aims to showcase traditions of Mediterranean populations through their artistic and musical production, said Marche regional councillor Giorgia Latini in a video.

    There will be the pianist Rea in "Verso Sud" (18/8), accompanied by Orchestra Femminile del Mediterraneo and the violinist and arranger Marcello Sirignano.

    Following on 19/8 will be Nostos, Irida Gjergji, and Flavia Massimo. the next day will be Livio Gianola, the only Italian guitarist who has written for well-known flamenco stars, in Mediterranean Flamenco Jazz, flanked by Flaviano Braga and Simone Mauri.

    Senese, who previously worked alongside Pino Daniele, will be performing a mix of jazz, funk, and African music with Neapolitan tones on 21/8, followed by Raiz from Almamegretta, Fink and Radicanto on 22/8 with Musica Immaginaria Mediterranea.

    The composer, singer, and flautist Enrico Fink will be performing on 22/8 at 7:15 PM at the Ancona synagogue, marking a return of collaboration of the Jewish community with the festival.

    Among the events will be one on Albania and the European dream with Gentiola Madhi from Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso and Ronald Car, who teaches at the UJniversity of Macerata (21/8) and "Egypt: strategy of silence. From Ahmed Samir and Patrick Zaki" with representatives from Amnesty International Riccardo Noury and Fabio Burattini along with journalist Pier Francesco Curzi.

    In the new new space of La Banchina there will be Eastern European rhythms with Barodrom Orkestar (21/8) and Salento music with La Repetition (22/8).
