Eight edition of Med Dialogues kicks off in Rome

    (ANSAmed) - ROMA, 01 DIC - The eighth edition of the conference Rome MED-Dialogues will be held until December 1 in Rome at the Hotel Parco dei Prinicipi.

    This year's edition is titled "Weathering the storm: interdependence, resilience and cooperation".

    The conference, promoted since 2015 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Institute for International Politics Studies (ISPI) opens with a message by Italian President, Sergio Mattarella, followed by a speech by Deputy PM and Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Tajani.

    Mohamed Bazoum, President of Niger, Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania and Giampiero Massolo, President of ISPI, will intervene. PM Giorgia Meloni's address will close the conference on Saturday 3 December.

    The Rome Mediterranean Dialogues constitute the main annual public diplomacy initiative of Italy's Foreign Affairs Ministry.

    The venue, co-sponsored by ISPI since 2015, brings together institutional representatives, experts, analysts, youth and civil society, economy and media representatives to discuss the key challenges in the Mediterranean and to strengthen infra-regional cooperation, around four key pillars; "Shared security"; "Shared prosperity"; "Migrations"; "Culture and civil society".
