Members of Shaitat tribe accused of backing Assad

    (ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, OCTOBER 27 - The Islamic State (ISIS) has publicly beheaded in eastern Syria, at the border with Iraq, four civilians, members of an influential local Sunni tribe already targeted by ISIS in the past, the UK-based monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Monday. The four were accused of cooperating with the Syrian regime. The NGO said the four were members of the Shaitat tribe.

    A reported 700 members of tribe last August were killed by the jihadists. Many of them were beheaded.(ANSAmed).
