Interior Minister announced new tourist police unit

    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, JUNE 29 - The Tunisian government established a new tourist police unit entrusted with the protection of hotel resorts after the attack in Sousse, last Friday. Authorities announced the deployment of approximately one thousand armed officers in hotels on the coast, establishing a new model of tourist police with the aim of preventing further attacks.

    Tunisian Interior Minister, Najem Gharsalli, stated on his facebook profile "we are ready to deploy one thousand officers to defend resorts". (ANSAmed).
