Battle between Salafi militants and ISIS members

    (ANSAmed) - ROME, AUGUST 13 - At least 30 people were killed Thursday after ISIS bombarded a suburb of Sirte in northern Libya with artillery fire. The attack came following clashes there between the jihadists and Salafi factions supported by civilians, said Arabiya television network.

    The clashes erupted on Monday between militants of Salafi groups and ISIS members, following the killing by ISIS of Salafi leader Khaled Ben Rjab. Eyewitnesses said tens of armed civilians joined the armed formations to fight, intent on driving ISIS from the city.

    According to the Associated Press, since Monday at least 46 have died in the clashes.(ANSAmed).
