(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, DECEMBER 21 - A local affiliate of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Sirte, Libya, has posted a propaganda video online showing its 'Islamic police' patrolling the city. Wearing black balaclavas and dark grey shalwar kameez and armed with machine guns, the men are seen receiving orders from a commander who tells them that ''your role is to keep Muslims and their honor safe. You are those fighting on the frontline against injustice and corruption. The crime rate is close to zero in Sirte and this city is the safest in the world''. Footage of the city follows, as do interviews with inhabitants of the city. ''I have seen security forces working in the streets,'' one man states, ''at all hours, even at dawn, and now there aren't any thieves around anymore. We have now obtained all our rights.'' A shopkeeper echoes his words in the video, saying that ''security is excellent in Sirte. There is no theft any longer.'' At the end of the five-minute video, checkpoints are seen with police cars and men wearing facemasks patrolling the streets. (ANSAmed).
