(ANSAmed) - ROME, MARCH 1 - At least 1,389 civilians were killed in February in Syria, the Syrian Network for Human Rights said on Thursday.

The organization has been keeping track of victims in the conflict since 2011.

Most of the victims in February - 67% of whom in the besieged, opposition-held Eastern Ghouta - were killed by Syrian regime forces, the NGO said: 1,079, including 203 children (an average of 8 every day) and 179 women. The other victims, the NGO said, were due to Russian airstrikes, airstrikes by the US-led coalition and other armed anti-regime and anti-ISIS factions. (ANSAmed).
