PARIS - 'Yellow vest' protesters have called for a large protest Saturday, November 24, in Paris.
''Act II. All of France in Paris!!'' was the slogan on Facebook used by the movement against the rise of fuel prices by President Emmanuel Macron.
The objective, according to the Facebook group promoted by Eric Drouet - a previously unknown truck driver from Seine-et-Marne - is high visibility and to reach ''by all possible means'' the capital, including train, bus and car-sharing, ''because that's where the government is. We are waiting for all of you - trucks, buses, taxis, car services, farmerseveryone!'', read the message.
A reported 23,000 people have said they will participate while 163,000 have said they are ''interested''. 'Debout la France' has called for a large mobilization on the same day in Paris. In particular, Franck Buhler, who represents the party in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne, has suggested to block the capital ''on foot, by car or horse''.
