Migrants: 160 migrants taken back to Libya, IOM

390 intercepted by coast guard over last 48 hours

    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, 12 OTT - A reported 160 migrants in the night between Sunday and Monday were taken back to Libya by coast guards, a spokesperson for the International Organization for Migrants (IOM), Safa Msehli, has tweeted. Msehli added that ''six boats were intercepted over the last 48 hours and 390 men, women and children ended up in jail''. ''Libya is not a safe port'', concluded Msehli.

    IOM in Libya said that ''while our teams are present at landing points to provide emergency assistance, we reiterate that nobody should be repatriated to Libya''. (ANSAmed).
