BELGRADE - Hungary has sent 30 police officers to North Macedonia and Serbia to help control the border between the two Balkan countries, media in Belgrade reported on Wednesday. The Hungarian officers will be deployed with local police to patrol the border in order to fight illegal immigration and arrest human traffickers.

Over the past few months, the flow of migrants along the Balkan route has intensified with thousands of refugees from Central Asia and the Middle East taking that route to reach Western Europe.
