(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, MARCH 29 - The Ever Given ship was freed on Monday and traffic in the Suez Canal resumed, canal authorities reported.

The Suez Canal Authority wrote on its Facebook page that the efforts to get the Panama-flagged container ship floating again had been successful, posting photos showing the ship from behind in the middle of the waterway, flanked by vessels on both sides.

Admired Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, has proclaimed the resumption of navigation in the canal, the statement said.
