Tunisia: clashes in Tataouine, police officers use teargas

A total of 10 demonstrators were arrested

    TUNIS - Clashes between demonstrators and police officers resumed on Wednesday morning in Tataouine, in southern Tunisia. Police officers on Tuesday night used tear gas against demonstrators who were asking for the implementation of all clauses included in the agreement of "El Kamour", in favor of employment in the region, signed in 2017 and modified in November 2020, and the resignation of the governor.
    Demonstrators set tires on fire and blocked a road, local media reported. A total of 10 demonstrators were arrested, five protesters and two police officers were injured in the violence on Tuesday.
