(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, JULY 2 - The Tunisian coast guard found the bodies of eight migrants who were on a boat that sank off Sfax in the night between Wednesday and Thursday, said the spokesman of the National Guard, Houssemeddine Jebabli. He added that 13 migrants who were on the same boat were rescued and that search operations for potential survivors are ongoing.

According to Jebabli, 33 sub Saharan migrants were also rescued by coast guards off Sfax after their boat, which left from Sidi Mansour to reach Italy's coast illegally, had started to take on water. (ANSAmed)
